Francis was involved in the ranching and livestock business in Hawaii his entire life. He began his ranching career at Kualoa ranch as a pre-teen and worked his way up from laborer and cowboy to President of the ranch. Francis was also president of Kukaiau ranch on the Big Island. In 1984 he purchased Hamakua Sugar Company and later started the Big Island Meat Company. The efforts of the late Francis Morgan were of great benefit to the ranching industry in Hawaii. His son John Morgan is carrying on his father’s work by continuing to manage and operate Kualoa Ranch as one of the last remaining cattle ranches on O`ahu.
